Your privacy is our priority

1. Overview

Privacy-First Design: Five Needs is built on the principle that your family's data belongs to you and stays with you. We do not collect, store, or have access to your personal information or the content you create in the App.

This Privacy Policy explains how Low Latency Labs LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") handles data in the Five Needs mobile application (the "App"). Because we've designed the App to operate entirely on your device, there is very little data for us to handle.

2. Information We Collect

What We DO NOT Collect

Five Needs does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

  • ✓ Personal identifying information (name, email, phone number, address)
  • ✓ Child's name, age, birthdate, or avatar
  • ✓ Moment logs, notes, or observations you enter
  • ✓ Behavioral data or emotional need patterns
  • ✓ Analytics or usage tracking data
  • ✓ Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • ✓ Location data
  • ✓ Contact list access
  • ✓ Bulk photo library access or scanning
  • ✓ Any data for advertising, profiling, or AI training

We have no servers collecting your data. We have no databases storing your information. We cannot see what you do in the App.

What Stays on Your Device

All data you enter in Five Needs is stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage frameworks (SwiftData). This includes:

  • Child's name (optional, user-entered)
  • Child's age or birthdate (optional, user-entered)
  • Child's avatar (optional, selected from emoji or photo—see note below)
  • Moment logs (date, time, emotional need, context, notes)
  • App settings and preferences

This data remains on your device and is protected by your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).

Photo Selection for Avatars: If you choose to use a photo from your device as your child's avatar, Five Needs uses iOS's standard photo picker. This means:

  • You select individual photos—the App cannot browse or scan your photo library
  • The selected photo is stored locally within the App on your device only
  • The photo is never transmitted to Low Latency Labs LLC or any third party
  • If you enable iCloud sync, the avatar may sync to your other devices through your personal iCloud account

iCloud Sync (Optional)

Five Needs offers optional iCloud synchronization to keep your data in sync across your Apple devices. This feature is:

  • Opt-in only: You must explicitly enable it in iOS Settings
  • Managed by Apple: All sync is handled by Apple's iCloud infrastructure
  • Encrypted: Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
  • No company access: Low Latency Labs LLC cannot access your iCloud data
  • Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy: iCloud sync follows Apple's terms and privacy practices

To disable iCloud sync: Go to iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Five Needs and toggle off.

3. Push Notifications

Five Needs may send local push notifications as optional reminders to log moments or check in with your child. These notifications:

  • Are scheduled and processed entirely on your device
  • Do not send any data to our servers
  • Can be disabled anytime in iOS Settings > Notifications > Five Needs

4. How We Use Information

We don't use your information because we don't have access to it.

Since all data stays on your device (or in your iCloud account), we cannot:

  • Profile you or your child
  • Train AI models on your data
  • Share your data with third parties
  • Use your data for advertising
  • Analyze aggregate trends across users

Your data is yours. We deliberately designed Five Needs this way to protect your family's privacy.

5. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: All App data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, which provides secure, encrypted storage.

iCloud Storage (Optional): If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account, encrypted by Apple, and subject to Apple's security practices.

No Company Servers: We do not operate servers that store user data. There are no company databases to breach, leak, or subpoena.

Your Responsibility: Since data is stored on your device, your device security directly protects your data. We recommend:

  • Using a strong device passcode
  • Enabling Face ID or Touch ID
  • Keeping your iOS software up to date
  • Not sharing your device with untrusted individuals

6. Third-Party Services

Five Needs integrates with the following Apple services only:

Apple App Store & In-App Purchases

The App is distributed through Apple's App Store. Downloads, updates, and all purchases (subscriptions and lifetime access) are processed entirely by Apple.

Payment Processing:

  • All payment transactions are handled by Apple
  • We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, including credit card numbers, billing addresses, or other financial data
  • Transaction receipts are verified on your device only—we do not operate servers that validate purchases
  • Apple may collect data related to your purchases subject to Apple's Privacy Policy

What We Do NOT Receive from Purchases:

  • Your name or email address (unless you contact us directly)
  • Credit card or payment method details
  • Purchase history or transaction identifiers
  • Billing address or financial information

Apple-Provided Analytics

Apple may provide us with anonymized, aggregate analytics through App Store Connect, including:

  • Crash reports and performance data
  • App installation and deletion counts
  • General usage statistics (session counts, retention rates)

This data is aggregated and anonymized by Apple before we receive it. It does not identify individual users, and we cannot correlate this data to any specific person, device, or the content you create in the App. We use this information solely to improve app stability and user experience.

iCloud (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, your data syncs through Apple's iCloud service. See Section 2 for details.

What We Don't Use

Five Needs deliberately does not integrate with:

  • Analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel)
  • Advertising networks (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads)
  • Social media platforms
  • Cloud storage providers other than iCloud
  • Third-party AI or machine learning services

7. Children's Privacy

COPPA Compliance: Five Needs is designed for use by parents (18+), not by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Child Data Entered by Parents:

  • Parents voluntarily enter information about their child (name, age, observations)
  • This data is stored locally on the parent's device only
  • We (Low Latency Labs LLC) do not collect, store, or access this information
  • Parents are responsible for the data they choose to enter

8. Data Deletion

Because all data is stored locally on your device or in your iCloud account, you have full control over deletion:

Delete All Data

To permanently delete all Five Needs data from your device:

  1. Delete the Five Needs app from your device
  2. All local data will be deleted immediately

Delete iCloud Data

To delete data from iCloud sync:

  1. Go to iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage
  2. Select Five Needs
  3. Tap "Delete Data" or "Disable & Delete"

No Company Databases

Since we don't store your data on our servers, there is no need to contact us to request data deletion. You have direct control.

9. International Users and GDPR

GDPR Compliance: If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, Five Needs complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

However, because we do not collect or store personal data, many GDPR requirements are not applicable:

  • Right to Access: All your data is already accessible to you on your device
  • Right to Deletion: You can delete data anytime by deleting the App (see Section 8)
  • Right to Portability: Your data stays on your device; you can export it via iOS backup
  • No Data Processing: We do not process your personal data, so no data processing agreements are needed
  • No Cross-Border Transfers: We don't transfer your data anywhere; it stays on your device or in your iCloud (managed by Apple)

10. Your Rights

You have complete control over your data because it's stored on your device. Your rights include:

  • Access: You can view all your data in the App at any time
  • Modification: You can edit or update any data within the App
  • Deletion: You can delete individual moments or all data by deleting the App
  • Portability: You can export data via iOS device backups
  • Opt-Out of iCloud: Disable sync in iOS Settings anytime

Since we don't have company databases storing your information, you don't need to submit requests to us for data access, modification, or deletion.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will notify you by:

  • Posting the updated Privacy Policy on this website
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document
  • Providing notice within the App (if technically feasible)

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with specific rights. However, Five Needs does not collect personal information as defined by CCPA, so these rights are not applicable in the traditional sense:

  • Right to Know: We don't collect personal information, so there is no information to disclose
  • Right to Delete: You can delete all local data by deleting the App
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell personal information
  • No Discrimination: We do not discriminate based on privacy rights exercises

13. Do Not Track

Some browsers have "Do Not Track" (DNT) features. Since Five Needs does not track your activity or use analytics, DNT settings are not applicable. We respect your privacy by default.
